Bio

My name is Adam Taylor, and welcome to catholiccomposer.com! Allow me to tell you just a little bit about myself, my work, and my hobbies.

Myself

I live in a little town called Keedysville, MD, which really isn't known for anything except being near Antietam Battlefield. I have an Associate of Arts degree in Music and a Certification in Web/Multimedia Development from Hagerstown Community College and am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition from Shepherd University (Go Rams!). I am, very happily, a Roman Catholic who is in love with the Church. As Christ intended, she is my guide in this life, and everything I do is subordinate to my faith—which brings me to the next category:

My Work

I am currently the Director of Music and Liturgy at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hagerstown, MD, where I work to bring about a liturgical environment that is wholly in line with the clear teachings of the Catholic Church. I am working to build up the choral program, where (as of September 2011) we will have an Adult Choir, Men's Schola, Women's Schola, Youth Choir, and Children's Choir. I absolutely love working in the liturgy, doing the opus Dei ("Work of God"), as it is sometimes known. I particularly enjoy composing music for the liturgy, which brings me to the next category:

My Hobbies

Mostly, I write music as a hobby. Although I am published, and therefore technically 'semi-professional,' I still consider it to be a hobby at this point in my life. My published works are available through CanticaNOVA Publications, and some of my works in the commons are available on this very site. I also enjoy programming and web design, although I have rarely done it professionally. Oh, and sabrage, as you can see from the picture.
